Are lean mass hyper-responders similar to those with familial hypercholesterolemia?

The lean mass hyper-responder phenotype is currently of interest. Some people who embark on a low-carb diet have significant elevations of total and LDL-C cholesterol. Controversy surrounds the implications of this lipid change. Traditional medicine suggests that this elevation is quite dangerous and increases your risk of cardiovascular disease. Some experts believe that this elevation, while dramatic, may not be dangerous. Please see a published video by Nicholas Norwitz where he challenges some of the arguments by Peter Attia, MD regarding this very topic.
